Overview

Alongside avoiding waste, waste disposal is an important factor in being able to live in a clean environment. During annual litter picking days, our landscape is collectively cleared of rubbish that, despite calls to think about how we deal with our waste, still sometimes ends up on the ground. In this way, not only do we discover hidden corners of our surroundings, but also learn to value a waste-free landscape all the more. Ultimately, together we are proud of making a contribution to protecting our landscape. That is because doing a good turn makes you feel good.

You can take part in these campaign days
Clean Village
After the winter thaw, motivated and nature-loving people from the villages of the Ahrntal Valley set about freeing the landscape of litter. The quantity collected is considerable, and the snack they eat together after their work tastes great too!
Südtirol CleanUP Days
South Tyrol-wide campaign in autumn: equipped with reusable rubbish bags and stainless steel litter pickers, volunteers set out to collect the litter from the mountains and the valley, either whilst hiking, walking, fishing or cycling. The routes covered are shown on the interactive CleanUP map from Patron Plastic-Free Weeks – last time around 250 routes totalling more than 1,750 kilometres.
Naturtreff Eisvogel
The river Ahr floodplains in the Taufers Valley, the loveliest and most intact river valley in South Tyrol, are an important rest stop for migratory and nesting birds – alongside the kingfisher, white storks, cranes, lesser spotted woodpeckers and little grebes now live there. The Naturtreff Eisvogel association works to support the preservation and protection of this diversity with clean-up campaigns, nature hikes, bird-song field trips and other awareness-raising work.
24/7
It is true that things are easier done together. But if nature is important to you, then you can also make a valuable contribution outside of the campaign days too. When you go hiking, walking, jogging (plogging) or cycling, simply take a bag with you and pick up the litter that you see lying around. Nature will thank you.
